Cornhole Tournament in Röllfeld

What do you do on a long May weekend? Peter Anton and Christoph Dehner chose cornhole, not just in the backyard, but at the 1st Cornhole Tournament in Röllfeld. Representing #TEAMRK, they competed against a total of 16 teams. For both of them, it was their first time taking part in a cornhole tournament. A friend made it possible by passing along the invitation. It sounded like a fun day, and it definitely was, but the competitive spirit did not take long to kick in.

STRONG PERFORMANCE IN THE PRELIMINARY ROUND

In the preliminary round, our duo immediately showed that they were not just there to take part. The atmosphere on site was excellent, with all participants relaxed and showing great sportsmanship. The result was also something to be proud of. They secured 5th place in Group B, including a win against a player from the 2nd Bundesliga. With this ranking, they qualified for the B Bracket, the next tournament round in which teams with similar preliminary round results competed against each other. Peter and Christoph then took things up another notch.

FROM THE B-BRACKET TO THE FINAL

In the B Bracket, Peter and Christoph won both the quarterfinal and the semifinal. In the placement match for 5th place, things got really close. The outcome remained open for a long time, but in the end, just one single point and the very last throw of the game decided the match against our duo. It could hardly have been any closer.

“You could tell that many participants play cornhole regularly and throw very consistently. Considering that, we held our own. With a little more practice, we could have achieved an even better result,” said Peter and Christoph in their honest summary, which also sounds a bit like a preview of what might come next. We are curious to see whether a second tournament appearance will follow soon. Hats off to you both!

By the way, cornhole is nothing new to us. Since 2024, we have had our own RK boards, which are used from time to time. Peter and Christoph’s tournament appearance has certainly reignited the enthusiasm for the game within our team.
