The Next Phase
of Construction
Is Underway
Construction Is
Moving Upward
in Kleinheubach
Just a few weeks ago, excavators, construction pits, and foundations dominated the scene at our company headquarters in Kleinheubach. Today, the first concrete columns are rising, offering an early glimpse of the scale of our new building. But progress is not limited to the construction site. Work is also underway inside our existing production facilities to make room for new machinery and adapt our processes to future requirements.
The Building Structure Is Taking Shape
Installation of the first precast concrete components began in mid-October. Following extensive preparation, the new building is now rising step by step. Each additional column makes the outline of the expansion more visible. The next stages of structural construction will include the installation of wall and ceiling elements.
Alongside the construction work, further changes are being prepared inside our existing production facilities. Expanding our machinery also requires changes to the layout of our existing production areas. Some work areas will be relocated, while others will be reorganized.
This involves careful consideration of numerous details. Where will materials be delivered? What routes will components take during manufacturing? And how can the individual production steps be connected as efficiently as possible?
Some of these processes will take place in the new building. The additional space will allow us to reorganize workstations, shorten internal transport routes, and reduce unnecessary material handling.
MORE THAN JUST THE BUILDING STRUCTURE HAS CHANGED
A look at the roofs of our production facilities reveals further progress made in recent weeks. New dust extraction ducts have been installed, and an overhead pipe bridge has been constructed across the employee parking lot. The new final filtration unit is also already in place.
What may look like additional ductwork and technical equipment from ground level is part of the modernization of our dust extraction system. With the addition of new machinery, the requirements for transporting and filtering wood chips and shavings are also increasing.
To meet these requirements, the extraction system is being converted from low-pressure to medium-pressure operation. This will allow the filtration units to operate independently rather than being connected in series as they were previously. The new configuration reduces energy consumption, improves operational reliability, and lowers noise levels.
The wood chips and shavings themselves also play an important role. They are used as fuel in our own heating systems. The upgraded extraction technology will improve their quality for subsequent use. At the same time, the existing heating network is being expanded to supply the additional production areas with heat in the future.
CONSTRUCTION CONTINUES WHILE PRODUCTION REMAINS OPERATIONAL
Despite the extensive construction work, daily operations continue in our existing production facilities. Machines are running, materials are being delivered, and finished furniture is leaving our factory. Just a few yards away, construction, installation, and equipment upgrades are taking place simultaneously.
To ensure that both activities can proceed side by side, the individual construction phases and technical modifications must be carefully coordinated. The goal is to keep the work moving forward without unnecessarily disrupting ongoing production.
In the coming weeks, additional structural components will be installed, bringing the new building closer to its final form. Even at this stage, the scale of the changes taking place across our headquarters as part of the production expansion is becoming increasingly apparent.
