Case Study
Facility Management at
REINHOLD KELLER
If everything runs smoothly,
facility management has already been there.
There are jobs people rarely talk about. Not because they are unimportant, but because many things feel natural when the right people are behind them. Machines run, systems are ready for use, pathways are clear, and the site is well maintained. Often, a problem is solved before it even becomes one. At REINHOLD KELLER, that is exactly what facility management is there for.
What defines this team is not just the wide range of tasks. It is the people behind them. Andreas Naun, Ferdinand Pfister, Timo Morgenroth, Susanne Heller, and David Schmidt work together to keep everything running smoothly. And wherever repairs, maintenance, installations, and coordination are part of the job, the team is always happy to welcome additional support.
A workday between technology, repairs, and spontaneous tasks
There is no such thing as a routine day in facility management. Coordinating an inspection in the morning, checking the sprinkler system, fixing a machine that is no longer working as it should, and in between, the phone rings because a pipe is leaking somewhere. All of this happens alongside the regular responsibilities.
Together, the team brings more than 60 years of experience at RK. It is clear that they do not just do their jobs, they truly live them.
From training to facility management
The way these five work together is no coincidence. It is shaped by their different backgrounds.
Take Ferdi, for example, who entered the field through energy systems electronics. Or Timo, who developed from an electrical installer to customer service technician, then operations technician, and eventually master craftsman. Andy also comes from the electrical trade and, after working for an energy supplier, brought exactly the experience that was needed. Susanne and David took a completely different path. After working in retail, Susanne completed training in horticulture and earned her master qualification. David trained in landscaping. Both contribute their green expertise, which completes the team dynamic.
Different paths, diverse experience and together they cover exactly what the wide range of facility management tasks requires.
“In the end, it just has to work again”
Timo has been part of #TEAMRK for eight years and is now 53 years old. He prefers action over long discussions. When something is not working properly, he takes a closer look, stays on it, and fixes it. “In the end, it just has to work again,” he says with a smile.
After work, he finds balance with his family, in the garden, and outdoors. Grounded, calm, and focused on what matters. And even on busy days, he often has a relaxed comment that makes things feel a little lighter.
“You just have to stay calm”
Whenever support is needed, Andy is usually close by. At 43 years old and with 14 years in #TEAMRK, he steps in wherever tasks come together or quick action is required. He does not ask if he can help, he simply does it. “You just have to stay calm,” he says with a smile, and he truly radiates that calmness.
After work, he is drawn outdoors. Climbing, tree care, hunting, or simply being out and about with his dog. “Sitting still is not for me,” he says. This mix of calmness, clarity, and readiness to act makes him an essential part of the team.
“There’s no such thing as impossible”
At 63, Ferdi brings not only a wealth of experience but also 16 years with REINHOLD KELLER. He is someone who drives things forward, creates structure, and always keeps a practical mindset. “There’s no such thing as impossible,” he says with a laugh.
In his personal life, Ferdi is just as energetic. His grandchildren keep him active, handball has been part of his life for years, and carnival is something he truly enjoys. When he takes time to relax, he often heads out into nature. This positive energy carries over into his work. He values a good atmosphere, is always approachable, helpful, and ready to listen.
When the technology works, one of them was involved
Timo, Ferdi, and Andy are mainly focused on technical operations. Maintaining heating systems, carrying out installations, repairing machines, and handling service requests. Ferdi keeps everything organized, manages orders, documentation, and coordination with external partners. Timo is in his element when it comes to installations, repairs, and maintenance. Andy steps in wherever needed, reliable, flexible, and always level headed. And when things get busy on site for Susanne and David, he is there to support them as well.
Anyone joining the team quickly realizes that their work makes a real difference, and that is something you can feel every day.
“When I’m outside, I’m simply happy”
At 58 years old and with 12 years in #TEAMRK, Susanne has a warmth that is immediately noticeable. She does not need much to feel at ease. Family, home, garden, a walk in the woods. “When I’m outside, I’m simply happy,” she says, and it shows.
She approaches others openly, gets things done without making a fuss, and is someone people truly enjoy working with. Her volunteer work and love for carnival reflect her warm and easygoing nature. Her colleagues appreciate not only her skills but also the positive energy she brings to everyday work.
“Gardening, cycling, and grilling, that’s all I need”
David is 43 and has been part of #TEAMRK for 11 years. When asked about his free time, the answer comes immediately. “Gardening, cycling, and grilling,” he says with a grin. Sitting still is not his thing at all.
That attitude shows in his work as well. David is someone who gets started right away. His positive energy is contagious and brings moments that make the day easier. Anyone who knows him knows that when he is around, things get a bit more enjoyable.
“From a blade of grass to a fir tree, we take care of everything”
Facility management has many faces. While Susanne and David work in different areas, their contribution is just as essential. They maintain the company grounds, handle winter services, coordinate waste management, and keep track of multiple tasks at once. “From a blade of grass to a fir tree, we take care of everything,” says Susanne. That sums it up well.
It is about much more than individual tasks. A site is not only defined by functioning technology. It also depends on a well maintained environment, clear organization, and the feeling that everything is taken care of.
„THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING TO LAUGH ABOUT HERE”
What makes working in this team special can be summed up in one word. Freedom. Not the freedom to do anything or nothing, but the freedom to take responsibility, make decisions, and work independently.
That only works because everyone supports each other. Professional skills matter, as do reliability, flexibility, and team spirit. “You won’t get far on your own here,” says Susanne. The team supports one another, communicates openly, and keeps a sense of humor even on busy days. “There is always something to laugh about here,” says Timo.
And then there are the small moments that stand out. The orchard blooming in spring. The Christmas lights shining right on time. A machine running again after a repair. A day when everything comes together and, in the end, everything works.
“IT DEFINITELY NEVER GETS BORING HERE”
Anyone joining facility management in Kleinheubach steps into an environment that challenges and gives back at the same time. The work remains varied, and the impact of your efforts is visible.
On top of that, there is a team that sticks together, trusts each other, and shares a laugh. People who take responsibility, support one another, and bring you along from day one.
Or, as Ferdi puts it: “It definitely never gets boring here.”
