Inside RK
From Digital Planning to Precision Furniture Production
When Ideas
Take Shape
At REINHOLD KELLER, the process does not begin with a machine or a material. It begins with an idea. It takes shape in the mind, is discussed, challenged, and ultimately made visible in digital form. In the engineering department, furniture is not only drawn, it is conceived. Dimensions, materials, functions, and processes are carefully aligned until a vision becomes a robust digital model. Lines are refined, details sharpened, and solutions further developed until everything fits together seamlessly.
This digital planning is far more than an intermediate step. It forms the foundation for quality, efficiency, and repeatability. It ensures that the final product precisely reflects the original concept, without surprises or unnecessary friction along the way.
Processes That Interlock Seamlessly
Between the digital model and the finished piece of furniture lies a highly precise process within #TEAMRK. For this process to function smoothly, information must be clearly structured, complete, and accessible at all times. This is where bills of materials play a central role. They consolidate all relevant components, materials, and quantities and serve as the binding foundation for procurement, production, and installation.
This process is further supported by CNC programs that define every individual machining step with exact precision. What is planned digitally is transferred directly into production. The result is a coordinated interaction between people, software, and machinery, where every detail is executed accurately. Sebastian Wünsch, Head of Engineering at REINHOLD KELLER, summarizes it as follows: “Our digital planning ensures that everyone involved works with the same information. This creates process reliability and gives us control over quality, timelines, and costs. In the end, the precision of the planning is clearly reflected in the finished furniture.”
WHEN DATA BECOMES SHAPE
The scale of daily operations behind the scenes is significant. At #TEAMRK, approximately 10,000 bill of material entries are generated each day. Extrapolated over a year, this amounts to around 3.5 million entries. In addition, roughly 80,000 CNC programs are created annually to ensure precision in furniture production.
To put this into perspective, imagine printing all this information. The resulting stack of paper would reach approximately 350 meters in height, nearly as tall as the Berlin TV Tower. It is a powerful illustration of the amount of data, expertise, and experience required to consistently produce furniture of the highest quality.
PRECISION YOU CAN SEE AND EXPERIENCE
At REINHOLD KELLER, digital planning is not viewed as an end in itself. It is the key to functional, durable, and aesthetically refined furniture. It ensures that projects remain scalable, series production is executed reliably, and custom solutions function with precision. As Sebastian Wünsch explains: “Digital planning gives us the freedom to be creative while maintaining an exceptional level of precision. It is this combination that makes our furniture production so strong.”
This is how data is transformed into tangible quality. Planning becomes measurable precision. And an idea becomes a piece of furniture that delivers exactly what it promises.
Digital Planning
in Motion
Where data is clearly structured and processes are seamlessly aligned, furniture is created that delivers exactly what was originally envisioned.
Precisely calculated, precisely manufactured, precisely executed.
