Review of the
Green Hospitality
Conference 2026
Europe’s first conference dedicated to sustainable construction in hospitality
On March 14, 2026, Hamburg became the center of the European hospitality industry for one day. As part of INTERNORGA, the Green Hospitality Conference celebrated its premiere at the Hamburg exhibition grounds, with REINHOLD KELLER participating as a silver partner.
Sustainability in the hotel industry is no longer a trend, but an integral part of future-oriented concepts.
More than just a conference
The Green Hospitality Conference brought together, for the first time on a European level, all relevant aspects of sustainable hospitality. Topics included sustainable planning, construction, operations, recycling, circular concepts, and resource-efficient design, as well as ESG strategies, energy-efficient building, and innovative materials.
The focus was not only on visions, but on practical approaches that can be directly applied to ongoing and future hotel projects.
A key topic was how hotel projects can be approached sustainably from the very beginning. From site planning and material selection to ongoing operations, the entire lifecycle of a hotel was examined. One insight was consistently reflected across all contributions: sustainable decisions are not made at the end of a project, but at the very beginning.
Working together for more sustainable hospitality
Architects, investors, operators, manufacturers, and sustainability experts came together, exchanged best practices, and developed concrete approaches. This combination of different perspectives is what makes such events valuable. Sustainable standards evolve through collaboration among everyone involved in planning, building, and bringing a hotel to life. This creates understanding, builds connections, and drives the entire industry forward.
A promising start
As an interior fit-out and roll-out partner for national and international hotel projects, we are present where the industry is evolving. The Green Hospitality Conference 2026 marked the beginning of a format that demonstrates that sustainable hospitality in Europe deserves greater visibility. We are pleased to have been part of it and look forward to what comes next.
Special thanks go to Dominik Tanner and Peter Joehnk of ID-Developers GmbH for their initiative and the organization of this first conference. We would also like to thank photographer Antonia from Jenner & Egberts for providing the photos.
