With structure and teamwork to project success
GOOD PLANNING IS EVERYTHING
Florian Stemmler is in his element when it comes to structuring complex construction projects and working together to achieve the goal. As a team leader in project management in the general contracting sector, he maintains an overview of capacities, processes and interfaces. He plans, structures, coordinates and brings people together – always with the aim of creating the conditions for a smooth project.
Florian knows exactly how different projects can be. Sometimes it’s about challenging schedules, sometimes about technical requirements or the very individual wishes of our customers. What he particularly appreciates about his job is precisely this diversity and working in a team. He has been part of #TEAMRK since 2017 and, in addition to technical expertise, he also has a feel for what is important in day-to-day project work: clarity, reliability and good teamwork.

“HEY! I’m Florian, 36 years old and a team leader in general contractor project management. It’s important to me to keep an overview, to approach things with a clear view and to trust that we can find solutions together even in hectic situations.
In my private life, I am a family man through and through. I enjoy spending time with my wife and our daughter. An important balance for me is my voluntary work with the German Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW). I am not only active there as a boat, crane and truck driver, but also as a training officer.
What does that have to do with my job? Quite a lot. Project management is also about reliability, teamwork and the right timing. In both areas, it’s crucial to react quickly, communicate clearly and keep an eye on people.”

At #TEAMRK, everyone pulls together – from the construction site to the office, from logistics to assembly and the workshop. That’s how we keep our projects reliably on track.
Each team member knows their role, takes responsibility, and understands what really matters. For example, anyone who joins us as a trainee gets to experience the full process right from the start – always in close collaboration with the team, always close to the project. It’s an attractive career path that provides valuable insights, opens up real opportunities for growth – and often marks the beginning of something big.
RESPONSIBILITY, KNOW-HOW & GOALS
Florian’s career began with an apprenticeship as a carpenter in a small family business. There he not only learned the trade, but also directly what it means to take on responsibility. He later worked as a foreman in a timber construction company with a focus on renovating old buildings and building extensions. The changing requirements inspired and challenged him.
Over time, the desire arose to not “just” implement, but to actively help shape: To plan workflows, structure processes and hold the reins. Having worked on the construction site himself still helps him today. “You simply know what challenges can arise and what really matters.”
This experience and curiosity led him into project management and ultimately to REINHOLD KELLER.

COOPERATION AT EYE LEVEL
Project management in a general contracting company is about planning processes sensibly, managing capacities and bundling topics where many interfaces converge. Florian bears this responsibility together with his team of eleven. They work particularly closely internally with the teams from Costing, Purchasing, Planning and Project Management in the carpentry area.
Florian’s tasks also include close contact with the customer – as a coordination point, sparring partner and jointly responsible for smooth project implementation.
There is rarely a fixed procedure. Sometimes capacities are adjusted, sometimes agreements are made at short notice or processes are rethought. “It’s varied, challenging and, above all, really fun in a well-coordinated team.”

HIGHLIGHTS THAT STAY IN YOUR HEAD
In eight years at REINHOLD KELLER, Florian has been involved in many construction projects. Two in particular have stuck in his mind.
One of these is the project for Five Guys in Munich. A former clothing store in the middle of Munich’s city center was transformed into a restaurant spread over five floors. Among other things, seven storey ceilings were replaced, an elevator shaft spanning several floors was demolished and rebuilt, and the stairwell was also relocated. And all under pandemic conditions during the coronavirus pandemic. “It was a real challenge – technically, organizationally and personally – but also a huge success that I will never forget.”
The project for MySpa in the Bavarian capital was just as special for Florian. The goal: a high-quality, exclusive wellness experience in a former warehouse. “Everything had to be sealed vapor-tight. It was technically very complex, but that’s exactly what made it exciting for me,” he emphasizes. And it’s projects like this that impressively demonstrate how multifaceted his day-to-day work at #TEAMRK is.

COMMUNICATION IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS
What makes projects successful? For Florian, the answer is clear: communication. Regular communication, both internally and with partners and customers, is a matter of course for him. “If you talk early and openly, many problems don’t arise in the first place,” he says.
Coordinating a general contractor project brings movement at all levels. A wide variety of trades, many participants and a whole host of requirements come together. This is just a small part of what needs to be managed. “When 80 to 90 tradespeople are working on the construction site at the same time, everything has to be right down to the smallest detail. This is exactly when good preparation pays off.”
His advice to anyone interested in project management: “Gain practical experience, learn basic construction skills, work on your communication and always remain adaptable.”

CONSCIOUS TIME-OUTS IN HECTIC EVERYDAY LIFE
For Florian, varied tasks, fair cooperation and the opportunity to make an active contribution are the basis for a good working relationship. What appeals to him at REINHOLD KELLER are not only interesting customers and challenging projects, but above all an environment that suits him both professionally and personally.
“Sure, there are days when a lot happens at the same time. Then it’s important to have structure and consciously take time for yourself and your family,” says Florian. For him, this is exactly where the key lies: in a job that is challenging and at the same time leaves room for what really matters.
